Climate change affects World Heritage in many different ways: Glaciers are melting, forests are changing, historic cities are coming under pressure. An interactive e-learning programme for children and young people aged between 9 and 16 makes the consequences of climate change clear and understandable using the example of World Heritage sites.
The e-learning module combines multimedia content with age-appropriate worksheets for two levels (9-12 and 13-16 years). Pupils can acquire knowledge independently, analyse climate systems, develop future scenarios and discuss protective measures. An accompanying online forum provides the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and learn from each other.
Teachers also benefit: They receive didactically prepared materials that can be used directly in the classroom, as well as instructions on how to link them to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This allows topics such as glaciers, forests, biodiversity and historic cities to be taught in a practical way.
