UNESCO World Heritage belongs to all of us – regardless of language, origin or culture. It tells stories that connect people and creates spaces for exchange and encounter. This activity is designed specifically for school classes working together in a language exchange.
This thematic dossier encourages collaboration across language boundaries. It is ideal for exchange projects and helps students understand the uniqueness of World Heritage. At the same time, they discover how similarities and differences between cultures enrich Switzerland.
Objective
Students explore cultural diversity, shared values and sustainable thinking through the lens of UNESCO World Heritage. They research information, prepare it in another language and present their results in their mother tongue. Through collaboration with a class from another language region, they strengthen their intercultural competence, language skills and their ability to cooperate and reflect.
