After an introduction to the origins of the Abbey of St.Gall and to medieval book culture in the vaulted cellar and in the abbey library, we will get to know the early medieval Unzial script. With reed pen and ink, we will practise its bows, shafts, monks and feet. In this process, we will understand the structure of letters and the aesthetics of writing. In everyday life, there are several automatisms: this writing technique, on the other hand, requires concentration, observation and practice.
